Want to WFH? Here are 10 in-demand remote jobs paying $100k or more.

Whether it’s being able to throw a load of laundry in midday or setting up your workstation from the comfort of your couch, the benefits of remote jobs are many. If you’re looking for a new WFH opportunity, get your resume and cover letter ready. According to Flexjobs, a website that helps people find remote work, there are 10 in-demand remote jobs hiring right now that pay $100,000 or more.

REMOTE JOBS: HERE TO STAY?

Love it or hate it, one of the side effects of the COVID-19 pandemic has been an increased ability to work from home. While many companies have called employees back to the office and a cooling labor market has slowed the growth of remote jobs in recent years, experts say there are still a lot of opportunities to be had, both now and in the future. According to recent research from Upwork, it’s estimated that 1 in 5 employees will be fully remote by 2025

“We are still seeing robust remote and hybrid opportunities for job seekers across industries and all career levels,” says Toni Frana, Lead Career Expert at FlexJobs. “In fact, many companies have embraced remote work and continue to offer this type of work as a primary model for their employees.”

STRONG DEMAND IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SALES

What fields are hiring remote workers? According to experts, two sectors where opportunities are plentiful are sales and customer service.

“Business Development Directors, Customer Success Managers and Account Directors are roles that are needed across several industries, so it makes sense that these roles are in demand,” notes Frana. “Working with customers, generating leads and closing sales are some of the key things expected in these types of roles, and for any customer-facing business, having a strong staff that liaises with customers in these ways is critical to the success of the business.”

Also on the list of industries seeking WFH employees is IT. According to experts, as technology changes and advances–especially when it comes to AI and machine learning–IT and related companies are growing to keep up with demand.

“Overall employment in computer and information technology occupations is projected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations from 2023 to 2033,” according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, which projects roughly 356,700 openings in the fields annually.

HOW TO STAND OUT IN A SEA OF CANDIDATES

87% of workers considering a job change say they are interested in hybrid or remote work opportunities, according to one recent survey. Translation: If you’re applying for remote jobs, you’re going to be up against a lot of competition.

To better your odds of landing an interview, you should always make it a point to tailor your resume and cover letter for each position you’re applying for, say experts. You’ll also want to make it a point to highlight past remote work experience. And don’t forget to brush up your LinkedIn profile (get tips on how to do so, here).

Good old-fashioned networking will also give you a leg up. “It’s important to have a strong networking strategy with plans to connect with and reach out to people working at the organization you apply to,” suggests Frana. “Following up on job applications is also something we recommend, as it helps you stay top of mind with the hiring team as well as reiterates your interest in the role.”
