Here’s to 400! AMA with Jean Chatzky, CEO of HerMoney

Haley Paskalides  |  December 6, 2023

We're so excited to be taking your questions LIVE with HerMoney CEO Jean Chatzky this week in honor of our 400th show.

Our team at HerMoney and our host Jean Chatzky have been publishing the HerMoney podcast weekly for SEVEN years and we’ve never missed an episode, how crazy is that? Back then, it was just Jean and Kelly Hultgren with a dream of making a show — by women, for women— about their money, goals, careers, retirement, and so much more.

Since then, the HerMoney team has grown (a lot!) We’ve published multiple books — most recently How To Money with our Chief Content Officer Kathryn Tuggle and Women With Money, based on Jean’s conversations with this incredible community. We’ve also started a second podcast How She Does It with our friend Karen Finerman where we’ve already chatted with so many amazing women. And we’ve also worked with thousands of you to help you budget better and learn to invest in our InvestingFixx and FinanceFixx courses. Not to mention, our HerMoney Facebook group now has almost 20,000 members! We’ve loved watching you all jump in and rally around each other, and respond to questions posted in the group with so much thought and care.

On this special mailbag edition of the podcast, Jean Chatzky asked all of you to send in the most pressing questions that you wanted to chat about in real-time — and then she spoke with four amazing women.

LISTEN: Index Funds, ETFs, and All Your Investing FAQ Answered

On this week’s episode, you’ll hear Jean chat with Samantha, who has a question about where to best invest our money in times of global uncertainty. You’ll also hear from Laura who has a question that’s been on a lot of listener’s minds recently – when is the best time to take Social Security if you pick up part-time work post-retirement? We also hear from Bonnie who recently lost her mom, and came into an inheritance. (She has a unique story because she’s also an actor, so she wants to know how to grow that money but also have enough to pay day-to-day bills when the checks aren’t coming in.) And finally, we hear from Denise who’s recently paid off her condo (congrats, Denise!) and is wondering where to put that extra money now that it’s not going to her mortgage payments.

Thank you so much to this incredible community of women. Whether you’ve been with us since day one, or you’re a new listener, we see you and we appreciate you! If you’d like to join us for a future episode, please write to us at mailbag@hermoney.com.
